Finding a research problem is the first and the most critical step in the research process. The function helps to decide the basis or objective behind your study. Research in social sciences generally, revolve around four Ps:

    1. People

The group of individuals around and among which the research problem may exist.

    2. Problems

The issues or problems relating to the lives of People, their examination to estimate the existence and the attitude of the group of individuals towards an issue, collectively build up the Problems.

    3. Programs

Programs are designed to evaluate the effect of interventions incorporated with the objective to curb the existing problem.

    4. Phenomena

Phenomena establish the presence of symmetry or regularity.
In practice most research studies are based upon at least a combination of two Ps.
